Solid infrastructure, from cable to Wi-Fi access point.
As part of our managed IT services, we design, install and monitor your practice’s infrastructure: network rack, copper or fibre cabling, 10 Gb/s network, NAS storage, UPS and Wi-Fi.

Network rack
A rack sized to your practice
When needed, we install network racks of every kind: a small wall-mounted rack in a cupboard for a practice, a floor-standing rack for a medical or imaging centre. Server, switches, internet router and UPS are kept tidy, labelled and protected.
- Rack earthed through a dedicated electrical circuit, separate from office sockets.
- Temperature and humidity sensors monitored around the clock: we are alerted before heat damages the equipment.
- Practice with 2 to 5 workstations
- Wall rack, 6 to 12U (30 to 55 cm high)
- Medical or imaging centre
- Floor rack, 24 to 42U (1.2 to 2 m)
- Ideal conditions
- 18 to 27 °C · 40 to 60 % humidity
Network cabling
Copper or fibre, tested and certified
Every workstation, printer, Wi-Fi access point or networked medical device needs a socket. We run copper cable to every room and, over longer distances, build fibre-optic backbones between floors or buildings.
- Cat 6A copper cable
- Up to 90 m per socket · 10 Gb/s
- Fibre-optic backbone
- Beyond 90 m, between floors or buildings
- Example: 4 consulting rooms
- About 15 sockets (2 per room, reception, printers, Wi-Fi access points)
- Cabling acceptance test with a detailed report: every socket is tested (length, throughput, faults) and labelled.
- Upgrade and reorganisation of existing racks: patching redone, cables tidied and labelled.
10 Gigabit network
The fastest network, for your medical images
X-rays, OCT scans, imaging series: your files keep getting heavier. We equip practices with the best network available today, over copper when the cable category allows it, over optical fibre whenever possible.
- Managed switches
- 24 to 48 ports, including 2 to 4 SFP+ ports at 10 Gb/s (fibre, or RJ45 copper using an SFP+ module)
- Workstations
- 2.5 Gb/s over RJ45 copper (2.5 times a standard gigabit network)
- NAS and servers
- 10 Gb/s over optical fibre
- For the biggest needs, all-fibre 10 Gb/s switches.
- Images open and save without waiting, even when the whole practice is working at once.
NAS storage
Hundreds of terabytes, properly managed
Ophthalmologists, radiologists: your images pile up year after year. We design and install high-capacity NAS units and storage servers, connected to your network at 10 Gb/s. Some of our clients already manage more than 100 TB of health data.
- Drives
- 8 to 10 drives of 32 TB
- Usable capacity
- Up to 256 TB (10 drives of 32 TB in RAID 6)
- Fault tolerance
- RAID 5 or RAID 6 (1 to 3 failed drives without interruption, depending on the configuration)
- Continuous monitoring of every drive, at your practice and in our data centre: we replace a failing drive before it affects you.
- Your terabytes are also protected at our end, with a dedicated high-volume backup.
Wi-Fi access points
Wi-Fi that covers the whole practice
We install cloud-managed Wi-Fi access points, centrally controlled: we update and monitor them remotely, without coming on site. Before installation, we carry out a Wi-Fi signal survey to place each access point in the most strategic spot.
- One access point covers
- Usually 1 to 3 rooms (depending on walls: plaster or concrete)
- Example: 150 m² practice
- Often 2 access points, wired in copper
- Waiting room
- Patient Wi-Fi kept separate from your workstations
UPS
Backed-up, monitored power
A split-second power cut is enough to stop a server or damage a disk. We install a monitored UPS: during an outage the rack stays powered and, if the outage lasts, the server shuts down cleanly. We work with APC and Eaton, the two biggest brands in the industry.
- Typical runtime
- 10 to 20 minutes for the rack and server
- Battery life
- 3 to 5 years on average
- Example: 2-minute outage
- Server and network keep running
- Battery health monitored remotely, replaced by our teams when needed.
Monitoring
Cloud-managed switches and Wi-Fi access points
Our network equipment, switches and Wi-Fi access points, is managed from the cloud. We see your network’s statistics and traffic in real time: a transit problem, a workstation saturating the connection or a faulty cable is spotted before it bothers you.
- Remote updates and settings, no on-site visit needed.
- Cisco, Fortinet or elionis router-firewall, depending on your setup.
- Included in your managed IT contract.
